SENSATIONAL STATEMENT.
THE KNYVETT CASE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) VVanganui, June 27. A public meeting was held at the Opera House tills evening in response to the invitation of the Knyvelf. Defence Committoo to hear tho facts of tho case connected with Captain Knyvett's dismissal from tlio volunteer forco. Mr. A. .T. Black, one of the speakers, created somewhat of a sensation by declaring that ho had tho authority of Captain Bosworth, a member of the Court, of Inquiry, to state that lie (Captain Bosworth) hacl said within tho past few days: "Before wo sat for that trial Knyvett was a doomed man."
A motion was carried unanimously to the cll'cct that l'urliament should pass the necessary legislation to provide for a new' and fair trial for Captain Knyvett, and to prevent tlio occurrence iu the future of a similar travesty of justice in case of other persons who may be officially accused of military crimes in this Dominion,
