A meeting of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children was held on Friday afternoon ill the society's room. Upper Willis Street, when'the following ladies were present:—Mrs. A. R. Atkinson (presiding), Jlpsdnmes Poiisonby. Izard, Glasson, and Corrijran, and Miss 13. B. Brown. The secretary reported on a number of cases which were being dealt with, and on several others now being investigated, inclndinc one of neglected children. The following subscriptions were acknowledged with thanks:—los. from Mrs. H. D. ■ Crawford. ss. each from Messrs. 11. Wardcll, T. Whitehouse, F. Penty, a, "Friend," and "W.C.," also a parcel from Mr. F. V. Barry.
