CANADIAN RAILWAYS.
4 BIG STRIKE THREATENING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Kec. June 2G, 5.5 p.m.) Ottawa, Juno 25. The employees of tho Grand Trunk Railway Company, who recently demanded a■ 40 per cent, increase, of wages, have rejected tho Arbitration Board's awards, which gave increases ranging from 11 to 15:} per cent. The men stato that they will not accept a lower scale of wages than is paid in tho United States east of Chicago. The Canadian Pacific Railway employees have issued aJi ultimatum. They had demajtdod a 123 per cent, increase, and were awarded 0' and 15 per cent. They stato that unless their demands are conceded a strike will be declared at ton o'clock to-morrow. Tho position is causing the gravest anxiety.
