The property consists of Hume's Building, situated on the western sido of AVillis Street, opposite the entrance to Old Customhouse Quay, a four-storied brick building, having a frontage of 56ft. by a depth of. COft., and a rectangular picce of vacant land (50ft. by 100 ft.) abutting on tho rear of tho built-ori scction, running northward behind other premises fronting Willis Street. Tho property has been sold by Mr. Christopher Humo to Mr. Thomas Covcrdale, lato of Christplmrch, for a sum approximat-1 ing £28,000. Computing tho entire length of the land to be equivalent to an 80ft. frontage to Willis Street, and tho depth to bo uniformly, about 100 ft., the cost of the land per foot (after, allowing tho sum of £8000 for tho building) would work out at £250..
