BOY SCOUTS.

TO-MORROW 'S DEMONSTRATION. Arrangements are well in hand for the Boy Scout entertainment in the Town Hall to-morrow evening. The following entries have been received for the various district championship contests (there are still sevsn troops to be heard from): —Knotting competition, 28 entries; signalling, 18; .first aid, 5; bugling, 7; hut building, 4. The programme includes a recitation by Mrs. .Margaret Sutcliffe, "The Midnight Charge" (C. - Scott), and the Wellington Pipe Band and Dancers' Club will contribute several items.- The various troops of the Te Aro battalion, in whose aid the concert is being held, will appear in soln« elevei scout sketches, while the caiup fire scene, with which the performance concludes, will be typical of many jolly nights spent around the camp fire.. The Te Aro battalion will march from the Basin Reserve by way of Vivian and Cuba Streets, headed by the Wellington Pipe Band. Other troops are invited to join the procession. Arrangements have been made to hold the preliminary competitions ii. scout work in tho afternoon, and only tho finals will be displayed in the evening that the audience may not be forced to endure a tiresome repetition of any particular branch of scout work. It is announced that the ticket-selline competition will close on Saturday afternoon at .3 p.m., when records of sales' will be taken. Hut-building patrols are to furnish their own material. Tho officials are as follow—Hut-build-in", Lieut.-Com. M'Leod; first aid, Dr. j.°S. Elliott; signalling, Bomb. Just; bugling, Bomb. Johnson; knotting, Captain Hooper, Amokura.
