Count Zeppelin, whose dirigible balloons have accomplished such remarkable [flights, is seventy years old. His first (long flight was in 1900, and his work was ifor many years carried on under great (financial difficulties. His Zeppelin 11, hvhich recently met with disaster, was 1446 feet long, 42£ feet in diameter, and I carried engines of 220 horse power. Count Zeppelin admitted I that the relations between him and the ■'War Ministry wfcro of an enduringly cold •character, and said that he even encountered difficulties in obtaining an interview with the Minister.
