The Bishop of Birmingham (Dr. Gore), in giving evidencp before the ■Royal Commission on the divorce laws, -urged the restriction of marriages after i-divorce to the registrar's office. The best course, ho considered, would i be to render a civil marriage obligatory in all cases, and leave the Christian bodies to celebrate the religious, rites ivhere the parties desired it.
