HOSPITAL AND C. A. BOARD.
IMPORTANT APPOINTMENT. Out of 84 applications from vamooa pants of the Dominion, Mr. George SWiffis, of Wellington, was yesterday appointed to the position of general secretary to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. _ Tho balloting in connection with uhe ■filling of the position, occupied about an ho,ur. Tho list of applicants had been reduced by a committee to sis, viz., Messrs. Willis, Coyle, Forsyth, Lambert, Thornton, and Shand —all of Wellington. Tho final selection rested between Messrs. Willis and Coyle._ Mr. Willis, the successful applicant, is a native of Wellington, and but 24 years of age. Before he attained his majority 'he entered business in Wellington as a custom-house agent. For tho past four years, however, he has acted as secretary to the Wellington/ Hospital Board and Wellington and Wairarapa Charitahlo Aid Board. During the past three months, since its formation, Mr. Willis has been actmggenwal secretary of the new Hospital and Charitable Aid Boardfor this district. The salary attaching to the position is £350 per annum.
