AUCKLAND HOSPITAL ROMANCE.
SEARCH FOB AN EX-NURSE. In the' probate division of the Royal Courts of Justice, London, on May 9, an application was made respecting the estate of William Evans, who. died in Auckland in July, 1907. Mr. Myddleton, counsel for tho deceased's mother, who resides in South Wales, applied that she might be granted letters of administration. He stated that Mr. Evans was formerly a member of the London Fire Brigade, hut his health broke down in 1903, and ho was advised to try the climate of New Zealand. He accordingly went there, and resided at. Auckland, but in 1907 he was again ill, and'went into a hospital in that town. There he fell in love with, and married, tli6 nurse who had charge of him. Evans died in July, 1907, and then commenced the search for his widow. He had a brother and cousin residing-in Auckland, and they mado all possible inquiries, in addition to which advertisements, had on three occasions been inserted in the New Zealand papers.- Y'ot there were no tidings of the ..widow. When Mr. Evans's health broke down in London he was assisted by his mother^. who. paid his passage out to New Zealand, and had altogether expended about £G0 upon him. Counsel therefore asked that letters of administration should be granted to her. Mr. Justice Bargrave ,Beano'"mado the order asked for.
