VANCOUVER SERVICE.
* CALL AT NEW ZEALAND. . LAUEIER FAVOURS IT BOTH WATS. By Telegraph -Press Association—Oopyrleht (Eec. June 20, 0.50 a.m.) Melbourne, June 19. In connection with the Vancouver Eervice, Sir. Wilfrid Laurier, Prime Minister of Canada, has cabled the Federal Postmaster-General (Mr. .Josiah Thomas) 6tating:— "I shall be glad if your Government will consent to a- call at New Zealand both ways on the Canadian mail service, the call to commence forthwith. Strong representations have been made to the Government of Canada in the interests of the mail and passenger traffic. I understand tho Government of New Zealand is willing to contribute." Mr. Thomas is not inclined to interfero with the present service, but has wired to Canada for further information.
