A petition, with 105,000 signatures attached, has been presented to tho Duma praying that a Bill be introduced in the Duma to abolish tho Jewish Pale. [Tho great majority of tho Jews in Russia havo long been confined to the western and south-western provinces. In the rest of the country they have not been allowed to reside in the villages on tho ground that their habits' of keeping vodka shops and lending money at usurious rates demoralise the peasantry. In the towns their numbers and occupations aro restricted by tho authorities.]
