IN A CAGE-LIKE CELL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, June 19. A reporter visited Sunnyside Mental Hospital in connection with the letter from Lionel Terry, which was published in The Domxiox, and, with the medical superintendent, saw Terry in a oage-lils cell, which has been specially constructed for him. The erection is in the old airing yard, and Is aimcst completely surrounded by hospital buildings. In reply to the reporter's questions, Terry stated that with the exception of a cold and boils he was well, and was as well as be could expect to be in 6uch a place. Tho medical superintendent admits that in winter little sunshine reaches the cage, but Tarry has recently declined to take an airing in a court whore pleniy of sun is obtainable when the weather is fino. His reason for refusing was because- on several occasions attendants could not be spared to look after him, and Terry said ho would not tako ad--vantago of tho opportunity to Ret eaashine unkss it was regular.
