NO-LICENSE CONVENTION.
Tho .twenty-fourth annual meeting of the Now Zealand Alliance and Dominion Convention will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next. Tho public functions will be as follow: — A monster tea will bo held in tho Taranaki Streot Methodist Schoolroom on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The prieo of tickets will be Is. The proceeds of tea will go to .the local fighting fund. A mass .mooting will take placo in tho Town Hall on Wednesday night. At 7.15 tho united choir, conducted by Mr. C. A. Potts, will be present. At 8 p.m. Mr. Wesley Spragg, president of tho New Zealand Alliance, will tako tlie chair. The programme will be as follows:—Pianoforte solo, "En Route," Mrs. Potts; song, "Galilee," Mr. C. A. Potts; speakers, Mr. T. E. Taylor, M.P., and Dr. Henry. Dr. Henry will speak on "Partnership with tho Publican." On Thursday night, at tlie Town Hall, the United Choir will meet at 7.15. At 8 p.m. tho Rev. F. AV. Catterton (Principal of tho Anglican Maori College, Gisborno) will tako tho chair, and addresses will bo given by tho Revs. R. S. Gray and L. M. Isitt (Christchurch), Fred Bennett (Anglican Maori Minister, Rotorua), and Miss Stirling (Maori Missionary). A collection will bo taken up at each of the meetings in the Town Hall. Sunday, Juno 2G, will bo combined Church Temperance Day, in which most churches will take part: A thanksgiving servieo will be held in tho Town (Concert) Hall on Sunday evening, June 26, at 8.30 p.m., in which delegates from different parts of tho Dominion will tako part. Tho music will again bo led by tho United Choir.
