EARTHQUAKES AT SEA.

The Riverview seismograph shortly after 4.30 o'clock yesterday commenced tv record which lasted for several hours. It was tho most pronounced yofc recorded by tho instrument. The doublo amplitude of tho waves of the maximum phase was 150 millimetres. The origin of , the disturbance was probably about 600 miles westward of Wellington, New Zealand, at a place where "faulting" seems t<) be going on, as tho distance was identical with those recorded on May 2 and Juno 1, as well as thoso recorded in Juno and December of last year.
