BARQUENTINE BADLY DAMACED. TOWED INTO PORT. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Roc. June 17, 2.30 p.m.) Sydney, Juno 17. Tho Government steamer Ranadi, from Fiji, reports a collision early this morning with a barnuentino off Broken Bay. Later in the day tho barquentine lima entered the harbour in tow. There is a large rent in her side, between the main and mizzen masts. LATER PARTICULARS. - BOTH VESSELS SUFFER. Sydney, Juno 17. The collision occurred in tho early morning darkness. Botli vessels wero inward bound, the Ranadi from Fiji, and tho lima from tho Clarence River. The steamer was going full-speed. Her stem was "fractured," and the bow twisted, a number of rivets being started, and opening up the seams between the plates. A quantity of water found its way below, but the purnps kept it down. The lima was struck a sliding blow on tho port side. Her bulwarks were smashed, and some plates below the covering board were badly damaged. Tho Ranadi stood by until she ascertained that the barquentine was safe. Her owjir damage prevented her towing the sailing vessel.
