Dean, the barmaid attacked in the Sir Walter Scqtt Hotel, in the city, by the man Tunks, with whom she was living, has succumbed to her injuries. [John Tanks, a labourer, alxmt 40 years of age, after having gashed tho throait of Melanie Dean with a. razor, in the room occupied by the pair at the hotel, cut his own throat with the same weap'on, and dk'd shortly after his arrival at tie casualty-room- of the , Melbourne •Hospital. Tunks and Mrs. Doan had lived together for some years, passing as a married couple, under the name of Dean. The "Melbc-urno Argus" states that about nino months' ago, Mrs. Dean, who was 37 years of age, left Tunks, and went back to her husband art Seddonville, on.the AVest Coast of New.Zealand. Not being able to agree with-him she caano back to Melbourne, and lived with Tunks again.] "
