SCHOONER WRECKED
SUPPOSED LOSS OF TWENTY LIVES. BLACKS WASHED ASHORE. By Teleerapa—Press Association—OoDTricht Brisbane, June 13. The steamer Prinz Waldemar brings news of the wreck of the schooner Lessie, with the supposed loss of about twenty lives. The schooner was caught in a sudden squall and capsized. Six members of the black crew kept afloat on wreckage, and were washed ashore on the New Guinea coast. Amongst those missing are tho master of the schooner (Captain Broeker) and a prospector named Uldurp, who was returning from New Guinea, where his companion had been murdered by natives.
