The steamer Prinz Waldemar brings news that tho disastrous typhoon in the Japan Sea last month did much damage to coastal shipping and fishing craft. At Hong-Koug many vessels were lost and the death-roll is heavy. Big storms were also experienced in the Carolinq Islands. Several island vessels are missing. The Prinz Waldemar picked up five native' castaways, part of tho ccew of an island vessel .that was swept out to sea. They stated that the captain, the only white man aboard, jumped overboard and was drowned. The castaways were eight days without food and suffered terrible privations.
