EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

fr_: A meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council was hold at Wise's rooms, Rona Bay, on Saturday evening; Those present were the Jlayor (Mr. It. W. Skortt), Councillors Mackenzie, Ross, Hussell, Sanson, and Wills. The sub-committee, set up to report as ta the proposed Town Hall, stated that it considered tho time not yet ripo for such work. The report was adopted, the Mayor and Councillor Sanson oxpressing their regret at the building being' postponed. The Town Clerk (Mr. J. D. Avery) placed some information before tho council regarding proposed sources of water-supply. A'sub-committee was set up to deal with the matter, and with power .to engage an engineer to report upon the proposals. It was decided to commence the formation and kcrbing of footpaths in Orua Road. A direction was also given for necessary work to the road at Southern Muritai. It was agreed that certain tree-plant-ing should bo done on Arbor Day. Accounts amounting to £23 9s. Cd. were-passed for payment.
