DISPLAYS BY NEW ZEALAND CHAMPION. ! Playing at the Gisborne Club :on Monday evening Mr. J. Read (New Zealand champion) was seen in good form. Conceding the Iccal champion, Mr. B. Lucas, 300 in 750, he ran to his points in 1 hour 15 minutes, and won by 315. His best breaks were 100,, 95,- 91, 69, 52, and 46 Imfinished. - ; At the Cosmopolitan Club, Gisborne, on .Tuesday evening Mr: Read conceded Mr. L. M'Gonigal 300' in 500 up. Although not in the brilliant form of tlio previous evening, he was very consistent and won by 31, making breaks of. 6!), (iS. 02, Gl, 40, 40, and 34. Mr. M'Gonigal made 38, 36, and 33. After both games Read gave an interesting exhibition of Masse, and fancy strokes.
