June 9, 10 p.m.) Melbourne, June 9. \ return issued by the Superintendent of' Exports shows- that the meat export trade for the. closing season has increased bv nearly 30 per cent over that of last sea«on. Tliis season 1,066,057 carcasses of lamb and mutton have already been exported, and about 34,000 are still awaiting shipment. The increase is partly duty to the early, but unrealised, prospects of a drought, 'and partly to the good prices ruling in the- European markets.
