Johnson, of Palmerston North, has accepted the posit'™ of judge of poultry and pigeons at the show of the South Wairarapa Poultry, Pigeon,;and Cage-bird Association. The show is to l>? held at Carterton on July 20 and 21. . A danco is to be held here on June 23 in aid of a football player who was injured while playing for Carterton. The Carterton Borough Council purpose having ISO cubic yards -of metal spread on Belvedere Road, 100 cubic yards on Wheatstone. Faraday, and Davcy Streets, and SO yards on Garrison Street.' OTAKI. Tho half-vearlv meeting of tho Otaki Lodge, TJ.A'O.D., was held on Monda.< evening, Bro. W. Hartill presiding. Af,ler ordi' ary business the installations were cani-d" out. as follow:—A.D., Bro. ft. Howell; V.A., -Bro. Mark Ayre; secretary, Bro. J. R. Biels; treasurer, Bro. .T. Livesay; 1.G., Bro. G. Wells; 0.G., Bro. H. Russell; A.D. Bards, Bros. C. Johnson and G. Gordon; V.A. Bards, Bros. L. Warren and W. Bailey; auditor, Bro. Mark Ayre. The half-yearly report ant! balance-sheet was considered highly satisfactory. At the conclusion of the business a toast list was honoured, and songs., were contributed by several of the brethren. A - wedding of interest to residents of Otaki and district is to take place about the end of this month. Mr. D. Judd and Miss Lily Judd eontemplate making a trip through the districts of Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, and Auckland. •
