With regard to the statement cabled on Monday that the' -Royal" Mail' Steam Packet Company is purchasing the whole of the Pacific. Steam Navigation Company's share capital at par, tho Royal Mail Company arranged the purchase with the ohairmah of the Pacific Company. The schemo will shortly be submitted to the shareholders of the latter company. Payment in cash is ottered. , Shares in the Pacific Company have advanced ,£3 10s., and aro now quotod at £23.
