SIR ROBERT STOUT'S OFFICE.

A Gazette Extraordinary was issued by Sir Robert Stout yestcrlay, proclaiming his appointment as "Idministrator of the Government" penang the arrival of tho new Governor, iter setting forth the basis of Sir Robert Stouts authority, the proclamation reads as follows:—

''Now, therefore, I, Robert Stom, the Chief Justice of the Dominion <of: New Zealand for the time beinc, do' h'ireby proclaim and declare that'l have'this day taken the oaths prescribed by the hereinbefore-in-part-recited Letters ?atent before his Honour Theophilus Coo'jer, Esquire, one of the Judges of the 3ul preuie Court of the said Dominion, aid that I have assumed the administratbn of the Government of the said Dominisn under and by virtue of his Majesty's sad Commission."
