LODGE MEETINGS.
Pioneer. Lodge, No. 11. 1.0. G.T., held its weekly session in the Kechabite Hall, Manners Street, 011 Monday evening, when Bro. 11. J. Millan, C.T., presided over a large attendance of members and friends. Three candidates wero proposed for membership. A good number of members of tho Hope of I'etoub Lodge favoured tho lodge with a visit, and took part in ' a very interesting debate. The visitors succeeded in convincing thoso present that "strong drink causes more poverty and misery than money." The Harmony Committee, with, their usual kindness, supplied refreshments, and at tho conclusion of the evening the usual votes of thanks to visitors wero carried by acclamation.
At tho meeting of the Pacific Lodge, No. 8, U.A.0.D., held last Monday evening, the half-yearly election of officers took place, and resulted as follows-.— A.D., Bro. Cooper; V.A., Bro. Marshall; secretary, Bro. G. Z. Quarrie (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. Binnio (re-elected); A.D.B.'s, Bros. It. Patten and T. Ilearne (re-elected); V.A.B.'s, -Bros. Murphy and Hcdderwick; 1.G., Bro. Jones (re-elected); 0.G., Bro. Williamson; M.S., Bro. R. Heggarty (re-elected); A.8.", Bro. M'Keay (re-elected); organist, Bro. Dring (re-elected); auditor, Mr. H. Bolton; delegate (0 F.ti. Council, P.A-. Bro. M'llugb. D.P. Bro. Allan, assisted by P.D.I'. Bro. Crombie, officiated as inttalllng officer. There were a number of visitors present, these including Bro. T. Stevens, P.D.P., Deniiiston Lodge, P.A. Bro. Brummond, and ; A.D. Bro. Jvlee. Brooklyn Lodge, and other past' officers of various lodges in tho district.
