LORD ISLINGTON.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR WELCOME. Invitations are now being issued to attend the ' city's l welcome to the new Governor (Lord Islington), which will take place in Post Office Square immediately after his landing. A dais for the purpose will be erected near. the Queen's Statue. Spoeches. of welcome will be made, but no formal address will be presented. The friendly societies, trades unions, and other similar bodies will be invited to take part in the reception and procession. The Mayor has communicated with the Prime Minister asking what arrangements will be made with Tegard to the presence of volunteers, the route to be taken by his, Excellency, and the seine of the Government reception, which it is suggested-' might be held in. the Town Hall instead of before the old Parliamentary .Building, if the Government prefers an indoor function.
