NEW WEDDING IDEA.
At the latest fashionable wedding in London the "best man," upon arriving at his allotted position in tho central aisle of the church, found .himself confronted by a "best girl," pioneer of her official order, who had been annotated to leceivo the bride,, to hold her'gloves and bouquet while the knot was being tied and ,to "support" her in anv other suitable way, perhaps by an infusion of whispered valour at the crucial of the ceremony. The new idea is "pronounced appropriate and pretty. .Probably there will be countless 'successors of tho "best girl" in the course of' tho next few seasons. It is being suggested that, should anything unexpected occur at the last .moment to prevent or postpone a wedding for which every arrangement had'been made, the best girl might marry tho best man in order Mo avoid a disappointment to the clergy and the assembled spectators. Another remark —this is more serious—is that if all future best girls are to be as charming as || le first, the brides, being usually nale and nervous under the stress of a culminating excitement, will inevitably suffer in comparison with their attendants, who will, of course, have nothing to worry them, and will therefore always appear to tho best advantage. The thoughtful bride will carefully chooso her host girl with a view to this difficulty. It was noticed that there were no bridesmaids at the wedding where tho "best girl" made her debut.
