The increase, which is greatly hampering building operations, is said to. be due to the Wages Uoartl raising the wages of brickmakcrs. On the other hand, it is pointed out that an increase of a. shilling a thousand would have mot this demand. 'The Federal" Attorney-General (Mr. W. M. Hughes) is inquiring into tho case, nnd, if necessary, will take action against the brick combine.
