HONOURS AND PROMOTIONS. Teletrraph— Prose Association—Oopyrielit (Rec. Juno 3, 11.10 p.m.) London, June 3. King George has been promoted from the naval rank of Admiral to bo Admiral of the Fleet. In the Army he has been promoted from Genoral to Field-Marshal. His Majesty ha 3 also accepted tho Colonei-in-Chiefship of nine regiments of Guards. King George, in connection withh his birthday, has conferred the Order of tho Garter upon Queen Mary. Privy Coundllorships havo been conferred upon Vrince Arthur of Ciiiinaught (son of the Duke of Connaught, and therefore tho King's cousin), Lord Knollys (for many years private secretary to the late King), and Lieul.-Colonel Sir Arthur J. Biggc (private secretary to King George as j'rince of Wales). A baronetcy has been coiifer/ed un Major-Gcni.Tiil tiir H. P. • Ewart, K.C.8., who won distinction as a cavalry leader in Egypt and the Sudan, and has been Crown Equerry einco 1894. Appointments on the staff of Royal Aidus-de-Camp have been made as follow :— Personal Naval Aide-tle-Camp to tho King:—Vice-Admiral His Serene Highness Princo Louis Alexander of Batteiiborg (who was personal Naval Aide-(le-Cainp to the late King). Aicles-de-Camp to the King:—FieldMarshal H.R.H. the Duke of Connaught, General H.R.H. Princo ChrisHan, and Major H.S.H. tho Duke of Teck. Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the King (Indian Army):—Hon. Colonel H. H. Maharajah of Gwalior, G.C.5.1.; Hon. Major-Gonoral H.H. Sir Pratab Singh, Maharajah of Idar, G.C.S.L; Hon. Col. H.H. Maharajah of Kuch Behar, G.C.1.E.; Hon. Col. H.H. Maharajah of Bikaner, G.C.I.E. Members of tho Household received various promotions and appointments of the Royal Victorian Order only. Tho birthday celebrations to-day were the naval salutes and the firing of forty-one guns in St. James's Park. The customary birthday honours will be issued on June 24.
