TARANAKI PETROLEUM.
A LETTER FKOJI LONDON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) New Plymouth, Juuo 2. At a meeting of the directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Company to-night a letter was read iroin a iirm of London brokers, asking to be entrusted with the negotiations for the sale of the company's property, should they desire to sell. They prelaced their request by stilting: "Your samples of crude petroleum have been brought under our iiotice by our friends —the nrincipals of the Board of Trade in London—and .wo are particularly struck with the possibilities of your company." The directors expressed the liveliest satisfaction at the knowledge til a t the Taranaki petroleum industry was receiving the consideration of substantial people in the Old Country.
