Tho Cretan .Executive Committee has addressed a Kote to the Protecting Powers (Britain, France, Eussia, and Italy) declaring that Crete cannot live without Greek institutions, and requesting the Powers,to' bring about tho only solution of the difficult)- by promoting tho union of Creie with Greece.
Official opinion in Patrus (the chief port of Greece) is that this new claim imposes on the Powers the necessity of considering the situation courageously, with a view to arriving at a definite solution.
