Messrs. Dalgcty a fill Company report :— At our Palmerston sale yesterday there was a very fair yarding of sheen, and a good entry of cattle. All classes of stock were in good demand, and met with ready sale at prices in advance of those ruling at the previous week's sale. Quotations: Mixed-age ewes, 10s. 9d.; s.m. ewes, lis.- 2d.; f.f.in. ■ breeding • ewes, to-12s. 10d.; empty ewes,'9s. 6d. to 9s. 9d.; small mixed lambs, 6s. 6d. to 7s. Id.;,forward cows and lieifers, £4; Cat cows, £5, £5 Is.; empty cows, £2 9s. 6d. to £3 25.; weaner heifers, 325.; two-year steers, £4 55.; three and a half-year bullocks, £5 175.; fat and forward bullocks, £7. ' Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale at their Upper Hutt yards this week. Thero was a good yarding of cattle, but only a few slieap came forward, and practically everything was sold under the hammer. Tho following prices were realised:—Heifers, close to profit and just caivcd, £6 to £7 17a. 6d.: lieifers, backward sorts, £3 Is. to £5 195.; dairy cows, close to profit. £4 18s. to £6 17s. 6d.; dairy cows, backward sorts, £3 10s. to* £4 10s.'; fat lieifers. £4 19s. 6d., £5 55., £5 155.; store cows,-£2 10s. to £2 175.; twelve to eighteen-month heifers, £2 to £2 55.; weaners, 18s. 6d. to 335. 6d.; bulls, to £2 155.; fat shorn lambs, 9s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that, at Palmerston yesterday, sheep met with good competition, and all lines were sold at satisfactory prices. Cattle also sold well. Sales wore effected at tho following quotations :—Forward ewes, lis. 4d.; forward wethers, 12s. 3d. to 12s. lid.; two, four, and sis-tooth ewes in lamb, lis. fid. to 12s. lid.; two-tooth ewes in lamb, 13s. 3d.; Shropshire ewes in lamb, 14s. 6d.; : empty forward ewes, Bs. 7d.; store ewes, 4s. to 6s. Id.; cull,ewes in lamb, ss. Id.; 1 forward 'lambs, 95.; ewes' lambs, Bs.; thrcei year steers, £5 55.; forward cows, £3 15s. jto £4; dairy cows in calf, £4 to £5 17s.
