• « At the Wellington Club on Tuesday evening Mr. 3. Rend (New Zealand champion) was seen in excellent form. Conceding 200 points in 600 up, he compiled breaks of 89, 52, 59, a brilliant 253, and •12 unfinished, beating his opponent easily. After the game he gave an exhibition of fancy and masse strokes. Mr. Read, who returned from the Old Country a fortnight ago,'is now on a tour of the Dominion, giving exhibitions.
