A MOTHER'S QUEST.
« ~ LEAVES WITH HER CHILDREN FOR ENGLAND. By Telccraph—Press Association—Oopyrieht (Rcc. June 2, 0.55 a.m.) Fremantle, June 1. , Mrs. Hawkes and her children have sailed for Kugland. Her divorced husband is a passenger by the same steamer.
[The explanation of the above is contained in the following "Western Australian cablegram, dateci April 28: "As tho result of divorce proceedings in England in i'JOi, an Englishwoman, Mrs. Hawkes, secured an order of the Court giving her custody of her two children.
From the date of the trial her husband and children disappeared, and the mother remained in ignorance of their whereabouts till a few weeks ago, when she learned that they were in Western Australia. Mrs. Hawkes arrived by tho mail boat this week, and legal machinery was put in motion to establish her claims. Tho mother met her children to-day for the first timo for six years."]
