Buick, M.l\, of Palmerston North, who if. at present on a visit to South Canterbury, says he is satisfied that Sir Joseph Ward's star as a political -leader is on the wane, and that next election will see the _ Opposition materially strengthened, if it not actually tako up the reins of power. In the ; North Island ho i≤ confident' that the Opposition will win at least five seats from the Government at next election, and if the South Island does equally well, the country . would got what it has long needed, namely, a chauge of Government.
