NO LICENSE CONVENTION.
THE RECENT COMPACT.
Delegates representing every electorate in the Dominion are expected to attend the No-.Liccuse Convention and annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance, to be held in Wellington from Juno 22 tc 21 inclusive. There arc 76 electorates, and each is entitled to send two dolegates. . Pi'ovision is njade for representstion by proxy when, direct representatives are not available. The deliberative meetings will, be held in St. John's Schoolroom, a team meeting will be held in the Taraaaki Street Methodist Schoolroom on Wednesday, Juno 22, and there will bo public meetings in the Town Hall on June £2 and 23.
Tho question of the compact which was arrived at during last session with representatives of "the Trade" will bo very fully discussed, and finally decided so far as the No-License party is concerned. Among the delegates who htsvo notified their intention to be present are Mr. Wesley Spragg, of Auckland, president of the New Zealand Alliance; Mr. A. S. Adams, of Duuedii), vice-presidents Rev. F. Isitt (Wellington), Rev. L. M. Isitt (Christcliurch), Ee'v. It. 'S. Gray (Christchurch), Rev. A. Doull (Auckland), Messrs. H. A. Wright, T. E. Taylor, H. G. Ell, J. Stallworthy, and E. H. Taylor, JI.lVs; lie-.-. 1?. W. Chatterton, of the Anglican Maori College, Gisborno; Mre. Cole, of Christcliurch, president of the New Zealand Women's Christian Temperance Union; Brigadier Albistan (Christchurch), and Mr. Gilbert Carson (War liganui).
Dr. J. Q. A. Henry will speak at the lown Hall on the Wednesday nignt, and will address the convention -on Thursday afternoon. The united choir, which took part in D,r. Henry's recent Wellington mission, is being invited to lead the singing in the Town. Hall, under the condnctorship of Mr. C. A. Potts, who will come to Wellington, with Mis. Potts, far tie purpose.
Provincial No-License Conventions wiß be held to-day in Dunedin, on Friday is Taranaki a,nd Auckland, and on Wednesday next in. Feikling. Various matters that are to be discussed at the ammal meeting in Wellington will be first considered at these conferences.
