NOTES AND COMMENTS. [Bi Glen-cox.] Very satisfactory acceptances have been received for the hrst day's events at the Otaki Jlaori Racing Club's meeting, and givel; fine weather the fixture should provide good sport on both days. The acceptors for the Flying Handicap include St. hill; Gipsy Belle. Parula, and several others that hnve shown winning form recently. The Soult pony, Gloss, left for Sydney on Friday last in charge of T. Price. As A. Julian is to have tho mount on Dunborve in tho Great Northern Hurdles, the Bluejacket horse is being well supported in doubles. Dunborve's most recent win was in the hurdle race on the first day of the Arondalc Jockey Club's meeting in April. C. Cress, who rode Wimmcra to victory in the Century . Hurdles at Wanganui, Will have the mount on the Mcrriwco gelding in the Great Northern Hurdles. The 'same jockey will pilot. Sol in tho Great Northern Steeplechase. W. After Woodhey's good performance on the second day' of the Wanuanui meeting, she appeared to have a very fair chnnce in the Raukawa Cup, nnd the fact that she ha» not been occepted for ■hat would suggest that Sir Tristram, nor stable companion, i= doing better work.
J. luliorn. who rode with great suc;ess at the pony meetings in Sydney, nnd afterwards in Tndia, returned to Australia a couple of months ago, and has recently be?n granted a license, to rido. on Mr. J. Wren's courses in Melbourne.

News by the mail stak-s that Neil Gow started favourite for the Two Thousand Guineas, and, after Lemberg hatl made all the running,"he enmc with a rush, and won in tho last half furloug. At latest advice both colts were progressing satisfactorily in their preparation for tho Derby, which comes up for decision to-morrow. / Tcotane, who showed excellent, form at the summer meetings, had to be spelled later on account of a lendency to bleed. He is among the acceptors at Otaki, and is probably getting into racing condition again. ; The annual meeting of tho Martou Jockey Club was held last evening.
