JURY IN THE POWELKA CASE.
♦- : REMARKS BY THE JUDGE. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, May 30. Judge Cooper, in thanking - the . j'utj who tried Powelka on the charge of murder of Sergeaut Maguire, stated that he would endeavour to have, them exempted from .further ; duty for twelve months. The jury had had a trying time during the four days which the trial had occupied, not being allowed to separate for that time. They were provided with temporary accommodation in the new Courthouse.
