HIGHLAND RIFLES BALL.
The Highland Rifles' ball this week promises to bo a most successful function. The music and catering, and decorations, aro to be special features this year. The stage in front of the organ will represent a military camp, with sentries in full dress patrolling the lines. Underneath the gallery will be alcoves, beautifully dccorated and furnished, each one bearing a name of the Seaforth Highlanders' most famous battles, such as Luoknow, Spion Kop, ctc. Round the. gallery and from the ceiling will bo draped in tbe company's colours, and tbo Grand March, headed by four pipers playing a slow inarch, will make a most imposing spectacle, to finally revert into n waltz. Patrons 'will also appreciate an exhibition of Highland dancing given by a trio, who aro all gold medallists, and the "fling," and the "sword dance." The gallery will bo cleared at 10.30 p.m., to facilitate arrangements for supper. .
