INTERESTING MARINE CASE.
THE BARQUE SOLGRAN. (B7 Telegraph.—Press Association.! Giiriatohurch, May 27. Mr. Justice Sim sat in the Vice-Ad-miralty Jurisdiction to hear the claim of the owners of t-lio steamer Remere, of Hobart, against the barque Solgran, for £500 towage. The captain of the Solgrau said the barque left the river Dcnvcnfc on April '27 with timber, and met the Remere off. Derwent Lighthouse. The wind was then light. He told the master of the Remere that he ■would give' him a couple of pounds if ho would pull the barque's heat! round. The master of tho Remere agreed, and towed tho barque about twenty minutes, when the lino parted,. The steamer then came alongside, and two sovereigns were handed over the sido. No receipt was given, but when the Solgran reached Lvttelton she was arrested. 'The ease is/proceeding.
Clii'istchurch, May 28. The taking of evidence in the claim against the barque Solgran was concluded this evening, and tho evidence signed. Tho case will come on here at a future date for determination.
