The cr-'.iser Cambrian, with Lord Chelmsford (Governor of New South Wales) and Lady Chelmsford aboard, arrived to-day at Norfolk Island/(which is under the jurisdiction of New South Wales). Their Excellencies were warmly welcomed, and were presented with an address. Norfolk Island, May 28. Tho Governor of New South Wales (Lord Chelmsford) opened the new Rawson Public Hall. At' a subsequent public meeting, a number of matters of interest to the discussed. Mr. Maeey Quintal, the principal spokesman, stated that tho handing over of the island to the Commonwealth was against tho wish of a large majority of the islanders.
