LECTURES BY REV. M. WALKER
11l the Masonic Hall yesterday afternoon a lecture 011 "Shaping the Future" was delivered by the Rev. M. Walker, of Auckland. The necessity l'or "ideals" was dealt with, and it was shown that successful (tic 11 of the world—the pioneers of humanity—were those who refused to wait for "favourable conditions," but created them. 111 the evening the subject was "Tho Esoteric Meaning of the Prodigal Son." The lecturer pointed out that in this suggestive parable is found a summing up of tho whole philosophy of ."Karma." A great many people deemed it necessary to plunge into the superstitions of tho past to find a system of spiritual philosophy adapted to their development. . The search ends in the discovery of husks, and a necessity to return to tho plain teaching .'of the Nazarene, which includes, in a positive form, all that is good in the eastern systems of thought. Mr. Walker will give a public lecture in the -Masonic Hall, Bonlcott Street, at 7.30 o'clock this evening.
