The finances of tho company were shown to be in a satisfactory state, there being a substantial balance of assets over liabilities. Tho report for tho year ending February, ■ IUIO, showed that C 4 members of the company were returned as.efficient for tho year, the company •thus being able to earn tho full amount of capitation allowed under tho regulations. Mention was also made of the fact that 60 members of tho company attended tho Johnsonville manoeuvres for tho inspection of Lord Kitchener — a record muster.
During the year three members of the company (Colour-Sergeant Evatt, Privates L. W. Ward and E. J. Harvey) were awarded the New Zealand medal for 12 years' continuous service. These three earned their medals under the full period, as tKey were fortunate in having South African war service to their credit, which counted doublo time. On Juno 3 next the three officers of the company (Captain Turner, Lieutenants J. \V. Hutchen and A. A. Mee) would become entitled to the same deeoration. With the exception of Captain Harton, of the Post and Telegraph Rifles, the College Rifles would then bo the only company possessing 12-year medals earned by those who joined the forces in Wellington during the. revival of volunteering in May-June 1883, at the time of the scaro caused through the Fashoda incident. .
As proof of the value of the company as an officers' training corps special mention was made of the fact that since the company was enrolled 12 years ago, no-less than 20 commissioned officers had been provided from amongst its members, of whom 17 had passed through the ranks of the company, and nine have held, or still hold, commissions in the company. Since then another member of the company has been awarded a commission in the Territorials, making in all 21 members of the company as having obtained commissions.

The report of the Shooting Committee, which was received with much interest, showed that tho company was very successful during the season, winning tho Junior Garrison Shield and several outside matehes. The individual members did excellently at the various championship meetings. The improvement which has been made in tho shooting was largely due to tho untiring efforts of Lieutenant Hawthorn, who has spared no pains to mako tho shooting a success. Tho winners for tho past season were:—Celt, Corporal- Gaz'ley; Shield, Corporal Johnstone; trophies, Sergeant Joplin, Sergeant Fisher, Corporals Low and Joplin, and Privates' Bennett, Matthews, and M'Kay.
