(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, May 23. Suva advices are to the effect that tho steamer Kilbum lias boon wrecked on Ethel Reef in the Yat-ama Archipelago. A telegram received by the Union Company states that the Arahura arrived at Greymouth yesterday morning. A cablegram received by the New Zealand and African Steamship Co. states that the Federal-Houlder-Shire liner Sussex has arrived at Adelaide from Liverpool. She is timed to leave Sydney on June 1, for Auckland, and other New Zealand port 3. Her arrival at Wellington may be looked for on Juno 14. ARAWA, LEFT CAPE TOWN. A cablegram received by the local agents for the Sliaw, Savill and Albion Company states that the R.M.S. Arawa left Capo Town on Friday for Hobart and Wellington. She is a day ahead of timetable, and may now be expected to reach Wellington on June 13. U.S. AND A.S. LINE. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., agents for the United States and Australasia S.S. Line, have been advised that tho Miiuiro arrived at Melbourne on Sunday last, in continuation of her voyage to New Zealand from New York, and that tho Strathclydc left New York on May 19 for New Zealand ports, via Melbourne and Sydney. The latter is a steel screw steamur of 4417 tons register, built in Grconock in 1906. Her dimensions are:— Length, 373 feet; breadth, 52 feet 2 inches: depth, 17 feet, 5 inchcs. NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING CO. ANOTIIER LINER ORDERED. Advice by yesterday's English mail states that the New Zealand Shipping Company have ordered another large paasonger and cargo steamer from Messrs. William Denny and Broa., of Dumbarton. The vessel is to be 4B4ft. long, 62ft. broad, and 35ft. deep, and in general design .will resemble the Ruakine. The latter has reciprocating engines driving twin screws. Another vessel on the stocks at Dumbarton for this fleet is the Rotorua. She tin fitted with the Clayton fire extinguisher, has a copper dam dividing tho cargo from the ongine space, tills being filled with water in case of fire, carries 16 boats, and has accommodation for 470 passengers and a crew of 130. YEDDO, FROM VALPARAISO. Yesterday afternoon the steamer Yeddo. I from Valparaiso, was signalled off tho Heads, and she was subseciuently brought to an anchorage in the stream by Pilot Dawson. The Yeddo callcd to receive orders from the Wcstport Coal Company's local branch, and she is to be dispatched io Newcastle to-day. She would have proceeded direct from the Heads, but required Home bunker coal and stores. Captain Sidney G. Robson is in command of the Yeddo. Ho reports leaving Valparaiso 27 days ago. Good weather was experienced uutil last week, when tho vessel encountered a heavy gale and high , fcc-as, which delayed her a couplc of days. Tho Yeddo is a steel screw steamer, of 4563 tons gross, and 2974 tons not. She was built in 1901 at Glasgow, and is classed 100A1 at' Lloyds. Yesterday the secretary of the Marine Department received a telegram stating that the Tutanekai was at Auckland, where she had compelled to go to replenish bunkers. She was to leave last night for East Cape. So far. the weather has been too bad to allow her to repair the broken cable between East Cape Island and the mainland. Altogether. 148 passengers are coming to New Zealand by the Moeraki, which is due here from Sydney to-morrow. Of this number 120 are for Wellington, 67 in the snloon and 53 steerage. An Australian exchange states that the steamer Fraukdale, <836 tons, . hasj been chartered to load ease oil at Mew York for Melbourne, Sydney, and Newcastle (option New Zealand). Messrs. Tyser and Company advise that the steamer Star of New Zealand will leave New York on June 20 for Australian and New Zealand ports, under the auspices of the United Tyscr 1-rine, in place ol th« s.s. Tomoana, which has been chartered by the A. and. A. Line. The s.s. Janus, built by Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Company, of OarrowonTyne, for Messrs. Archibald Gurrie and Co., of Melbourne, under the superintendence of Messrs. F. .J. Trewent and Proctor, Billiter Street, London, was launched last'month. She is a vessel 415 ft. in length, by 53ft. beam, with a depth of 57ft. to the shelter deck, above which is a bridge deck and a, boat deck. Shi will bo handsomely fitted for 60 first-class passengers and 40 second-class,. with largo Galoon, music, and bmoking-rooms. She is specially ventilated for tropical climates and for the carrying of horses, being intended for Messrs. Currie's ser« vice between Australia and India. This is the seventh vessel built by Messrs; Palmers for the same owners.
