NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOUR BOARD.

TRADE IMPROVING. (Bγ Telegraph.—Special Corresoondent.) 1 New. Plymouth, May 19. ■ At tho New Plymouth-Harbour Board meeting to-day the secretary reported that tho trade of tho port, was rapidly recovering from the recent general depression. The revenue for the past four weekly periods was greater than in the corresponding period of last year, whilst for tho first three months of the year the increase was about £900, but still a little short of the earnings for a'similar period in 1908. Wharfage dues for the four weeks ending April 26 were larger than ,in any previous four-weekly' period. Another very satisfactory feature was that the land revenue received for the past quarter was the highest for ten years past.
