MARJORY GLEN. AT THE HEADS. A PASSAGE OF 150 DAYS. A sailing vessel, which is supposed to bo the Gracie, Bcailcy Line's barque Marjory Glen, which left Liverpool on December 11 with a general cargo for Wellington and Dunedin, arrived off the

Heads yesterday afternoon, and the tuu Duchess was dispatched at 5 p.m. to tow her into the stream. The tug was not successful in her quest, and had to return to port without the barque at 8.30 p.m., after nearly two hours' tossing in the heavy sea which was running in tho Straits. Tho Duchess pursued a zigzag course for about eight miles without' seeing any sign of tho barque. It is supposed that when darkness came on the harquo stood off the Heads to shelter in. Cloudy Bay. The Marjory Glen has a general cargo, and is coming to the agency of Messrs. Johnston and Co. Captain Miles is in command of the vessel. The length of the vessel's passage is partly accounted for by reason of her having had to put into Cape Town on March 5 to replenish her water supply, ■ the stock of fresh water having been rendered useless through damage sustained in heavy weather. Mr. W. H. D. Bold, late chief officer'of tho Moeraki. is to be acting-wharfinger,foi the Union Company at Greymouth. On Friday, chief engineer M'Gill of the Kittawa, won't ashore at Lyttelton. on sick leave. Tho second and third engineere have been promoted to fill the vacancs until ho can resume his duties. Mr. A. The coastal steamer Wairau is due here from Karamea about Wednesday nexu Bound from Westport to Gisboruc, the Westport Coal Company's collier Regulua passed Wellington Heads at 8.10 p.m. on Saturday. By means of tho Morse 6ignal Captain Gibbons reported.... "All Calls at Gisborne and Napier will be made by the Delphic before she. comes to Wellington. It is expected that sho wil? be here on Thursday or Friday to dis* charge Liverpool cargo. The Christchurch "Press" understands that in September next the turbine steamer Maori will go to Port Chalmers for an extensive overhaul. Owing to the Tarawera being delayed in the south, the Maori's departure from Lyttelton for Wellington on Saturday night was postponed until 11 p.m. The Tarawera is timed tp leave Lyttelton foi Wellington this evening. On her recent trip from Newcastle to Lyttelton tho Waihora toolt eight daya from port to port. Exceptionally bad weather was encountered on the trip, and on several occasions the engines had to be eased to prevent damage / being done. When the vessel reached Lyttelton she bore evidence of the rough trip, but Eha had sustained co damage worth mention< The Arahura will make a special trip from Wellington to Picton and Nelson or Friday, May 20, in place of the Pateena, which will withdraw for survey at Wellington, and resume on May 23. Mr. R. M'Gill, chief engineer of the Kit. tawa, came ashore at Lyttelton on Friday on sick leave. His position has been filled by the promotion of Mr. F. Henry, second engineer, and the third engineer.)

An inquest-was held at Felphara, Bog.nor, on Fred. Binstcad, a young cyclist from Battersea. While cycling through tho village on Easter Monday he hung on to tho back of a motor-car, and on. letting go at a dangerous corner, he got, in front of a motor char-a-banc and .waa thrown against a wall.
