In consequence of Friday next,. the day appointed for the King's funeral, being a holiday, it has been deoided to dispatch, the Ulimaroa for Melbourne, via southern' ports, on Wednesday, May 18, instead of Thursday, May 19. This will enable the vessel to get through Lyttelton on Thursday, and sho will thus be able to keep her time-table at southern ports. INDEALEMA, FROM NEW YORK. A report of the voyage of tho Tyser steamer Indralema, wnich arrived at Auckland on Thursday; from Now York via Australian ports, shows that the vessel encountered very rough weather dur-1 irig the passage. Alter a une weather run to tho Oapo of Good Hope she ran into tierce gales, which cohimenccd on March 26, ana continued with more or less severity until arrival at Melbourne on April 28. i'rom April 11 to 13 an cxceptioually heavy gale prevailed, and the ship's decks were constantly hooded. Tin lorecastlo was gutted, the water finding its way in through the. companionways and tho ports. It was then found necessary to run the boat before the wind until repairs were effected, and in the meantime the stokers had perforce to quarter in the engineroom. Heavy woather was picked up again between byuuey and Auckland. Tho Indralema left Sydney at 3 p.m. on Friday last, and experienceu strong winds and seas, with heavy rain; till baturday last, when a gale was encountered, lasting throughout that day and Sunday. The steamer ■ being in lignt trim, shipped littlo water, but laboured heavily. Hazy weather and ' copious rain continued until arrival at Auckland. On May 8, in iat. 33J south and long. 15S east, tho Indralema sighted a large grey-painted barque, hove-to, under two lower topsails. It was thought she I was bound for tho West Coast. Repairs to the Haupiri have been com- ! pleted, and the steamer has been brought oU' tho Patent Slip. Captain James, late of the Kakapo, and • Captain Dawson, late of tho Mauapouri, i arrived from Sydney by the Maitai on Wednesday, and went south to Dunedin ' for orders. 1 .Mr. H. N. Williams, late of the Moura, joined tho Moeraki yesterday as chief 1 officer, in place of Mr. H. W. D. Bold. Mr.- J. Stewart, fourth officer of the Moeraki, signed off tho vessel's articles at Wellington yesterday, i The Government steamer Hiuemoa was • coaling at Auckland yesterday, and was to leave in tho evening for Cuvier Island, thence Okura. i Having completed discharge of tho Wel- ■ liugton portion of her cargo, the barque ) Eona was towed away from Queen's Wharf, and started on* her voyage to Napier. Advices from Noumea state that salvago operations aro being carried" out at the wreck of tho auxiliary schooner Countess of Eanfurly, with satisfactory results. The French steamer Kono returned from the wreck on the 28th ult., bringing back about 70 tons of cargo, inoluding 151) cases ' of benzine, 50 cases Kerosene, and a quan- ' tity of ironmongery, drapery, etc. Sho , also recovered four boats from the wronk, two being shipped as cargo, and/ tho others belonging to tho vessel. The French i eteamor France visited tho sceno for tbo ' purpose of ondcavouring to tow tho schooner off the roof, but tho conditions , were not favourable. However, it iB ex- , pected. that when the weather admits, fiio vessel will bo floated off and towed into ' Noumea. The cargo talvcd from the wreck , will be disposed of at auction at Noumea for tho benefit of all concerned. > | The Nikau has resumed ber usual running in tbo Wcllington-Jtfclßon-Motuoka scr- , vice. . On Monday next the Union Company's ). Pateena will bo placed on the Patent Slip i for cloaning and pninting. Yesterday's weather report showed that tho conditions at East Capo had improved, and tho Tutanekai was accordingly dis- , patched thcro to repair the cable. 1 Monday will bo a busy day at the port, as tho steamers to arrive include the , Corinthic, from London; tho Aparima, - from Calcutta; tho Drayton Grange, from ) Llvorpool; and tho Indralema, from Now l York.
