The shell was of ivory, lined with white satin, and the yolk was a golden case wherein reposed a largo ruby set in' diamonds, the wholo being valued at over ,£2OOO. A Gallic cemetery containing archaeological remains dating back between two and three thousand years has been discovered at Pogny, near Khcims. The objects include magnificent vases, bowls, necklaces, aad bracelets, some richly jewelled. Spain can boast of, its natural mineralwaters in the same manner as the other countries of Europe, and it has only been owing to the difficulties of travel that its springs are not better known. A movement is now on foot to exploit these mineral springs. Major Hildor, a member of tho Essex Union Hunt, has offered to present 500 guineas to tho Koyal Agricultural Jlencvo--lent Institution for the special benefit of indigent farmers in tho Essex Union country. The offer has been gratefully accepted.
