The Arbitration Court to-day directed £he parties to the djsputo between tho agricultural and pastnrat labourers and femployers to confer with a view, to a settlement on the basis of • tho South Canterbury award. The Court also heard 'evidence in the flispute iu the brick and tile industry, in agreement had been reached on all points «xcept wages and preference, and the workers asked for an award on all fours with that ruling in Auckland.
