DISCLOSED BY FINGER PRINTS. The young man .Sydney Smithers, who had been remanded for sentenco on a charge of having used indecent language, was brought forward. Sub-Inspector Norwood said that since accused has pleaded guilty his finger prints had been taken, and inquiry showed that ho had eix previous convictions against .him, including stowing away, vagrancy, theft' from the person, and inciting to resist the police. One of the sentences was given in Sydney, hut accused had como back to New Zealand again. His Worship entered a sentence of two months' imprisonment. Frank Hansen pleaded guilty to having used obscene language during a disturbance in Martin Street on Tuesday, and was convicted and fined £i, with tho alternative of 21 days' imprisonment. JUVENILE .COURT. A juvenile offender, .15 years of age, appeared before the Children's Court on two separate charges of stealing mercery of a total valuo of 195., the proprty of Chas. George Rhimes. His Worship remanded tho boy until May 18 on each charge, and made an older that tho lad should report himself to the. Mount Cook police onco overy day for tho next week. OTHER CASES. A further remand to Monday next was granted in tho case of Sidney Diamond, charged that on or about November 23, 1909, ho did' steal the sum of 155., the property of his employers; (jh« A.M.P. Society. Jlr. O'Lenry appeared for accused, who was allowed hail as before, in the sum of £5 and ono surety of Patrick Cummane was chargod—(l) with insobriety, and (i) with refusing to quit licensed premises, the Thistle Hotel, when requested to do so. On'the first charge accused was convicted : and discharged, and'on the second information a conviction and fine of 405., iu default 'seven days' imprisonment, was entered. Ono first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged.
